About me

I am a cultural historian who has specialized in Old Norse-Icelandic literature. My areas of expertise include history of the mind, body and emotions in medieval Scandinavia. I have written about the restless dead and the roles ascribed to them in medieval Icelandic sagas (for my earlier publications, please see here), and in my doctoral thesis (2015, University of Turku), I examined emotions and the supernatural in Icelandic sagas. Currently I am conducting postdoctoral research in the University of Turku and writing a book about the history of suicide in medieval Iceland.

To follow up my research, you can check my profiles at Academia.edu and Researchgate.net.
